Podcast 61 – Charged By A Grizzly with Mike Mershon

Although the title is pretty self explanatory, today’s podcast is very interesting and crazy grizzly encounter while elk hunting during the 2019 season. Mike Mershon is a hunter for Montana and he recounts the story of an elk hunt that turned south rather quickly.

In addition to covering the story in great detail, Mike gives us some tips for carrying a side arm and bear spray and how to always be prepared. We also talk about what you should be doing to help minimize potential conflicts in the backcountry and how to mitigate encounters around camp.
