In today’s part 2 video, I leave the computer at home and burn some boot leather to give you an eye-level view of prime elk habitat in Colorado’s high-country. If you haven’t yet watched Part 1, take a few minutes and watch it here: Scouting For Elk In Colorado – Part 1.
The premise of part 2 is to take what I showed you digitally during part 1 and validate it in the field. If you find water, bedding, and food all in close proximity to one another, the elk will not be far away. I also showcase some of the flat benches I found using onXmaps topo layers and why elk like to travel and bed there.
